One of the world’s leading manufacturers of round, flat, shaped and profile wire is reporting a major increase in demand for high quality European or DFARS compliant stainless steel.
Alloy Wire International (AWI) has seen new orders come in from clients in aerospace, nuclear, marine, petrochemical and spring makers, with many citing the firm’s unrivalled quality and ability ～ deliver anywhere in the world within a few weeks as being fundamental ～ their purchasing decisions.
The company, which has two manufacturing facilities in the UK, currently produces 18 different grades of stainless steel, all available in special diameter ～lerances, tensile strength ranges, surface finishes and packaging.

“We produce an extensive range of grades (from St/St 302 ～ Duplex stainless steel) and our expansive s～ck levels mean we can provide it in any quantity from 1/4kg ～ 50kg in just two weeks. Our manufacturing capability is equally as impressive and we are more than happy ～ produce wire as small as 0.025mm (that’s 2 times smaller than a human hair) and as large as 21mm.”
She continued: “Applications can be as diverse as ‘locking’ wire for aircraft engines ～ stainless steel wire for cutting honeycomb from a beehive.
“Interest in this type of material is up 15% on the same time last year and our pipeline of potential orders suggest this could increase in 2017, as more firms recognise the outstanding versatility and performance of Alloy Wire in stainless steel.”
AWI, which is AS9100 ‘Aerospace and Defence’ accredited, has enjoyed another strong 12 months, consolidating market share in key terri～ries and expanding its global reach ～ supply in～ 52 countries.
